more snowman

Well, I should really be working on one of my bazillion fall or Halloween designs I have, yet here I am working on my snowman instead. So much for seasonal stitching this year I guess!

I like how this one is turning out and it's hard to put down. But maybe I'll still have some time to pull out a Halloween design when I get it finished up.... We will see!

snow white finished!

I got LHN's Snow White finished up today:

This is stitched on an32ct Antique Blue ornament cut using B5200 DMC. I LOVE how it turned out! I did have to adjust the border ever so slightly due to my miscounting error and I decided to leave out the little flakes of snow in the upper section, but I think it still turned out pretty cute.

Then I decided to start my next project:

Sorry for the bad picture! This is supposed to be LK's Snowman 2010. I'm stitching it on a 32ct Dirty Linen Belfast ornament cut using DMC. I'm cutting it close on the upper and lower borders on this one, so I'm hoping I centered it correctly! Of course, now LK came out with the 6 Fat Men, so I have a feeling there will be more snowmen sneaking into my stitching WIP basket....

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

oops....

I was happily working away on my Snow White when I realized I miscounted by a row somewhere. Oops. Not exactly sure where it is, but figured it wouldn't be too bad. I'll just adjust the border somewhere if I need to. Hey, it's all about personalization, right?

Happy stitching!

more snow white

I have been stitching a little bit here and there on Snow White:

I'm loving how this is turning out on this fabric, but the picture doesn't do it justice. It's funny- usually I stitch for the seasons, but this year I just couldn't be more off! On that note, I just realized I haven't stitched any Christmas ornaments yet this year. Can you believe it?!? I think I may have to find some here soon. I know I have tons of patterns in my stash. I just still can;t believe summer is almost over. That went quick this year! Very much looking forward to the cooler weather and all of our fall decorations. Soon!

another halloween finish

I finished up another of the PS Halloween designs from the Boo to You leaflet. These are so fun! I only have 3 more to go, then to figure out what to do with them all.

I did decide to take a break from my Halloween stitching to work a little bit on Snow White.

I'm loving how this one is turning out on the blue linen, though the picture doesn't show the true color of it.

I'm having a bit of stitching ADD lately though, where I can't really decide on what project to work on, so I'm working a little on this and a little on that. Plus there are so many others that keep making their way on my to-do list! I think I need more time in the day....

Hopefully I'll have more progress pictures soon!

happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July to all of my American followers! I hope you have a great day with good food, family and friends.

I finished another of the PS Halloween designs the other day:

And started another one:

(Sorry for the blurry pics - I need to find the good camera - the iPhone cam just isn't cutting it!)

I should be stitching on one of the many patriotic designs I have, but find myself going back to these Halloween ones lately. I think it's the size. It has been SO hot lately that the thought of having to hold much more fabric just doesn't sound appealing right now. We have been having record heat around here lately, which has not been fun. Luckily I have many, many small projects to get me through the summer!

Does anyone else find they tend to gravitate towards the smaller projects in the summer too?

Stay cool and happy stitching!

harvest moon

I forgot to post my finish from the other night!

This is from the Prairie Schooler Boo to You leaflet and stitched on 32ct lambswool. I started the next one, but don't have much progress to show yet. Hoping to get a little stitching in today, but we will see how the day goes!

the moon...

More progress on Harvest Moon. I forgot how fun these little projects were. Maybe they will actually be done in time for Halloween! I just need to fill in the night sky, then it's on to the next one.

I had planned on starting a few summer or patriotic projects, but I seem to be drawn more towards the Fall/Halloween and Christmas ones lately. I still may try to fit some summery stuff in since it is fun stitching for the season as well. I also reorganized our office and went through some of my stash and found several more projects that I forgot I had and now are on the to do soon list. Crazy how that happens... I also decided that some of the kits and charts I have will probably never be done, so I'll probably be listing some stuff for sale. Realistically I could be a stash-only stitcher, but who can really resist all of the new designs that come out all of the time?

a little bit of fall...

I was in the mood to stitch something with fall or Halloween colors (maybe to counteract the 100 degree heat??) so I got Harvest Moon out and was able to get in a few stitches:

Just a quick post for now - the laundry calls!

it's done!

Little House Needleworks - Pear - Stitched on a 28ct Lambswool Linen Ornament Cut.

I'm not sure why I couldn't get a clear picture of this one!

This was a fun stitch, though the flowers and bees gave me a bit of a problem. I have no idea why though... What to stitch next? I'd like to start CCN's Red White & Bloom or LK's Summer Alphabet, but I haven't kitted either one up yet. Maybe this weekend I can get that done. Is anyone else stitching either of these?

a little more pear

I got a little bit more done on pear.

At this rate, I may be done by the end of summer! It's been hard to find more than a few minutes here or there to fit in a few stitches, but hey. A few is better than nothing in my opinion!

new charts and more pear

Wow- where did the weekend go? It's always crazy how fast they go by.

We have some new charts in the store:

These too are at our new lower prices. Come check it out!

www.stitchesandstash.com

I'm loving a couple of these charts and just may have to add them to my summer stitching list.

Anyone want to do a SAL for either one maybe?

I did get a few more minutes in on Pear. I'm really enjoying this one and may just have to pull out a few more of these kits when this one is done.

I'm hoping to get some more stitches in tonight, but for now laundry calls. Hope you all had a great weekend!

a pear and some news!

Wow, it's sure been awhile! Life has been crazy, again! I finally got a chance to get some stitches in Pear.

Sorry for the bad picture. I'm having a lot of fun with this one. I'm not usually one to stitch with overdyed fibers, so this is a nice break from plain old DMC. I can't wait to stitch more one this. I'm also figuring out some summer projects I want to stitch. There are so many, it will be hard to decide.

From the storefront.... We don't carry a large inventory of designers in the store, but did we mention.... we dropped our regular prices on all of our charts! No, this doesn't mean we are discontinuing them. We are actually going to be adding some new ones this week. We also have some clearance charts left. Come check us out!

Now to try to find some time today to get a few more stitches in Pear. Have a great day!

a heart and a santa

Well, I forgot to post the last few days. My bad! I got the little heart needlepoint framed for my aunt:

The frame came with the kit. I wasn't crazy about the wire hanger that came with it, but it ended up working out alright in the end.

I also started PS Let it Snow. I only have a part of Santa's beard done so far, but it's a start anyways.

I'm using the fabric that came with the kit, which is a little softer than I usually like, but I'll probably stick with it. Hopefully I'll have this one finished for Christmas.

I'm in the mood to stitch so many things right now, so I'm not sure what to work on lately!

start #4

Here is challenge start #4, BC Winter House:

I love these Zipper kits. They stitch up pretty quick.

I know it's the end of January and I'm just posting my start #4. January was crazier than I thought it would be. I knew it would be crazy, but wow. So, I didn't meet the challenge deadlines. I probably won't even get them all started in January. But, you know, I'm ok with that. I still plan on starting and finishing my 15 challenge projects, but it will be a slower start that everyone else. And I'm not going to stress about it. Our hobby is supposed to be fun and relaxing, right?

So, which one should I start next.....

challenge start #3

I was only able to get about 15 minutes in, but it's a start!

This is LHN's Pear stitched on a 28ct Lambswool linen ornament cut. I think this one will stitch up really fast. I love LHN and CCN designs. I should have added more to my challenge list. Oh well, motivation to get some finished up so I can work on my ever growing must stitch LHN/CCN list!

back to the challenge! start #2

I was finally able to get back to my challenge projects! Here is start #2: Lizzie Kate's Eek:

The picture does not depict the actual colors, as they are much deeper in real life. I'm stitching it on a 32ct Coffee Bean Linen ornament cut using DMC. I LOVE the colors on this one. So fun!

my heart

I started and finished up a Sweet Petites needlepoint kit from Dimensions tonight. I made it for my aunt who is about to start chemo. She taught me how to needlepoint years ago, so I knew I wanted to make her a little something.

It stitched up pretty quickly. The design called for french knots to outline the outer and inner hearts, but I thought they looked a little sloppy and well, to be honest, I really don't like french knots. I think it looks fine without them. The kit came with a little silver frame, so I'll have to get it all put together here soon. When I do, I'll take a much better picture. I really need to stop using my cell phone!

just dropping in...

We have had a very busy few days! I was hoping to start another new challenge project, but with things as hectic as they are, I think I will probably stay with my original plan of starting them a little later in the month. I am enjoying seeing all of the progress pictures though!

I have been stitching on a cute little owl kit I got in my stocking. It's a great project for when you only have a few minutes here or there.

I'm really enjoying this one. I'm sorry for the blurry pic - I used my cell phone.

Thank you for the comments on my first challenge start. They definitely help with the motivation to keep going!

happy new year and start #1

I'm a little late in wishing your all a Happy New Year! We had a relaxing New Years, as we don't really like to go out that night - too many drunk drivers. Our heater has once again broken, and this time it's down for the count. Ack! We should be getting our new one next week though, thank goodness!

I did make a small start on my first project for the Crazy 2011 challenge - LHN Snow White:

I didn't really care much for the greenish fabric in the model, so I'm stitching it with DMC on a 32ct Antique Blue ornament cut, and am really liking the color for it. I only had about half an hour to stitch, but it's a start.

Now, which one should I start next....
